We are now recruiting for a Kitchen Manager for a cosy bar & restaurant in Manchester, near Northern Quarter.
Saffron Vanilla is pleased to offer this opportunity to run a small kitchen in our client’s newly refurbished Bar & Restaurant.
The successful candidate will take on the responsibility of pushing forward the new direction taken on by the owners, with the help and support of the general manager – who is also a qualified chef – along with the modest kitchen team.
Who are they?
The restaurant has recently changed ownership and therefore has undergone a huge revamp, both in the aesthetics and offerings. All dishes are prepared using fresh produce. In addition to the small but sophisticated food menu, the restaurant now boasts an impressive drinks/cocktail menu which attracts an array of customers.
The role and you;
·Previous experience running a kitchen
·Minimum of 1+ years as Senior Chef
·Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene/ Health & Safety (or equivalent)
·Ensure all food production areas operate to the required standards of HACCP, COSHH, the client and all other regulatory bodies.
·Understanding of costing and profit margins
·Ensure effective control of stock purchasing, receipt, storage and rotation
·Train & develop junior chefs to required standards
·Demonstrate excellent cooking skills
·Have a thorough understanding of produce and ingredients
·Ability to write menus that are creative and profitable
·Demonstrate good management and leadership skills
·Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate necessary tasks
·Ability to cope well under pressure
·Compete all relevant paperwork
·Good team player, hardworking and enthusiastic
