Our client, located on the outskirts of an affluent, picturesque village in Wakefield are currently looking for a creative Sous Chef to join their talented kitchen brigade. This is an independent, family owned Gastro style pub restaurant, where the customer is at the heart of everything they do.
The dishes served are of great quality, freshly made with locally sourced ingredients and an ethos of ‘flavour over fuss’. There is a delicious selection of classic British dishes available which are continuously being updated.
The ideal candidate will be a talented chef who is passionate about preparing dishes to a high standard, working closely with the Head Chef to maintain and increase standards and developing junior members of the team. They will have the confidence and necessary skills to ‘Act up’ in the Head Chef’s absence and will be keen to work within a busy, fast paced environment.
Key Skills Required
·Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a chef
·Experience working with fresh produce
·A passion for cooking and raising standards
·A flair with ingredients
·An ability to stay calm under pressure
·Strong leadership skills to motivate your brigade of chefs
·First rate culinary skills
·Understanding of and adherence to regulations such as HACCP and COSHH
·Working with Head Chef to create new recipes and menu ideas
·Train and develop junior chefs
·Running the kitchen when the Head Chef is absent
·Ensuring your brigade has high culinary standards
·Managing food purchasing and storage
·Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
